Can you describe your business?
Vital Ground is a newly established company offering both certified and bespoke training designed to enable organisations and individuals achieve training resolution and industrial compliance. Specialising in health and safety, first aid, paediatric first aid, safeguarding and education and training.
Why did you start your own business?
Despite the number of reputable training companies, I recognised in some a shortfall in delivery standards and a general lack of direction within the industry. Training should be about identifying and meeting the training needs of the client, not the needs of the training company. Training must provide both a positive and enjoyable experience. This deficit presented the potential for the formation of a company offering a professional and personable approach where specific educational and training needs could be identified and met with full clarity and with the broadest participation of the client. I strongly believe that at individual and organisational level, people today have a robust social conscience particularly when it comes to health and safety and first aid in general, my aim was to form a company that could provide and deliver the requisite training to build capacity, maximise elfconfidence
and raise belief in abilities. With the skill-set and with a host of training experience in varied environments, Vital Ground was established to fill this void.
What are the best things about running your own business?
Running my own business allows me the freedom to express my personal training standards in full compliance with the needs and requirements of the client. This symbiotic approach ensures a high standard of cost effective training and certification is achieved with minimal disruption to business.
What are the main challenges facing the business?
The main challenge is currently recognition. Individuals and businesses alike tend to revert to their previous training providers simply because they used them last time. As a newly formed company, Vital Ground must break this trend and establish itself as a viable and renowned alternative to the established companies to grow and achieve long term success.
What advice would you give to someone starting a business?
Have confidence in your product and in your own abilities to further your company aims. Deliver the same high-quality product every time and never compromise your standards. Recommendations from satisfied clients are everything!
