ApprenticeshipsNI: New Guide for Employers Published
Guidance helps employers to get started with apprentices, outlines how employers can find training providers and explains the Apprenticeship Levy
The ApprenticeshipsNI programme is employer-led training provision, with employers creating apprenticeships in line with their business needs. The programme offers apprenticeship training across a wide range of industry sectors and occupations.
Benefits of employing apprentices
There are many benefits from employing an apprentice including helping apprentices develop the specialist skills that businesses need to help keep pace with latest technology and working practices. Many employers have reported that by employing apprentices they have realised a growth and improvement in productivity in their businesses, coupled with a real sense of contributing to the skills need of the Northern Ireland economy.

The new ApprenticeshipsNI employer guidance, published by the Department for the Economy (DfE), provides advice on the current apprenticeship programme in Northern Ireland and the changes being made. It includes information on the Apprenticeship Levy which was introduced by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) across the UK on 6 April 2017.
