Future Skills: Access Skilled Cyber Security Employees

Employers: are you looking for entry level cyber security employees?

Last year the Department for the Economy (DfE) launched Future Skills, a new programme to ensure the availability of skilled staff for local employers in key priority areas. The first Future Skills course successfully trained 50 graduates to meet the growing demand for data analytics staff with many of these graduates now been employed with local companies.

DfE is now currently training a further 25 graduates on its Future Skills Cyber Security Fundamentals Academy. These graduates are being trained with the necessary skills and qualifications to fill entry level cyber security roles and will soon be available for employment.

Using the Assured Skills ‘Academy Model’, the Future Skills academies are being delivered through the further education sector. Through Assured Skills, colleges already have a proven track record of working with industry to provide a skilled workforce to meet their needs. The Assured Skills programme has seen the workforces of many local businesses trained and equipped with skill sets specific to their business needs.

If you have job opportunities available in your organisation for entry level cyber security staff and would like more information please send your contact details to DfE by emailing assuredskills@economy-ni.gov.uk.
