Can you describe your business?
A family run business, located at 82 Derry Road, Derry Road Roundabout, Omagh. We operate from extensive premises which are kept immaculately, ordered, logical and efficient. Here at Toolbox Omagh, we know what our customers want – service at the highest
level.
We have been providing a diverse range of tools, garden equipment, construction equipment and associated services since 2001. We are proudly independent and committed to offering a good old fashioned level of service whilst keeping up to date with the latest equipment and technology. With a ‘can do’ attitude we can help you with almost any requirement you have.
Why did you start your own business?
Faced with redundancy as the firm I was working for was closing down, I spotted an opportunity and decided to go for it!
What are the best things about running your own business?
I still get a buzz when we are able to help customers who maybe couldn’t find what they needed elsewhere. Also, when customers take time to phone or email compliments about our level of service, that always raises a smile.
What are the main challenges facing the business?
The long hours involved. After almost 16 years, I’ve now finally got a work/life balance that’s decent. Thanks to the great team around me at Toolbox.
What advice would you give to someone starting a business?
Be prepared for a long arduous journey. You can’t build a business overnight.
Can you describe your experience of running a business in three words or less?
Exciting, tiring, worthwhile!
