Can you describe your business?
My business is looking after loved ones graves in a dignified and caring manner. This involves grave cleaning and tidying. I also supply and erect headstones and surrounds.
Why did you start your own business?
Approximately 1 year ago, my uncle asked me to help him clean my grandparent’s grave. It came up like new so this gave me an idea to start my own business. Some people contacted me from overseas to take care of their loved ones graves so I realised there was a need for this service.
What are the best things about running your own business?
I am my own boss and have the flexibility to manage my own time.
What are the main challenges facing the business?
The weather is my biggest challenge. There are certain tasks I can’t do in the frost or wet which holds me back.
What advice would you give to someone starting a business?
I would say just go for it. I would also say that I have met so many lovely people along the way.
