Conference on Pregnancy and Maternity at Work

This event highlights the employment experiences of new mothers, the launch of employer guidance and practical examples

The Equality Commission is holding a conference on ‘Expecting Equality’, 40 years on from the introduction of sex discrimination law in Northern Ireland.

The event will:

  • present the findings of the Equality Commission’s investigation into the employment experiences of pregnant women and new mothers
  • launch the Equality Commission’s good practice guidance for employers on managing pregnancy and maternity in the workplace
  • highlight the practical experiences of businesses, organisations and trade unions tackling these issues on the ground
