Can you describe your business?
We manufacture soft furnishings including curtains, roman blinds, bedlinen and cushion covers.
Why did you start your own business?
I started my business in 1993. I took a unit in Omagh Enterprise Centre 23 years ago and I am still here.
What are the best things about running your own business?
It is rewarding to see the finished products and it’s also great meeting lots of different people.
What are the main challenges facing the business?
Meeting deadlines is the main challenge! Especially at times like Christmas when people want redecorating finished for the holiday period. The spring time is also a popular time for changes in the home due the spring cleaning!
What advice would you give to someone starting a business?
Don’t just sit and wait on the phone to ring, get out there and do everything you can to bring in customers. When I first started 23 years ago, I got into my car and drove into different towns to make contacts with shops who supplied fabrics and a making up service. This provided me with my initial customers, which resulted in repeat customers until the present day.
