Invest NI Boss Says NI Boardrooms Need More Women

Northern Ireland’s boardrooms should have more women and have greater diversity, according to the chairman of Invest NI.

Mark Ennis, who leads the business development agency, was speaking on the BBC‘s Inside Business programme.

He also defended the performance of the Northern Ireland Executive on the economy.

He said ministers like Peter Robinson, Martin McGuinness and Arlene Foster had helped to attract new investment.

‘More accessibility’

“Speaking on behalf of our first and deputy first ministers and indeed Minister Foster, a lot of the jobs coming in are because of leadership they’ve shown by accompanying Invest NI on trade missions and opening doors for us.

“People underestimate the fact that a key politician goes with you. It really does give you more accessibility to a lot more businesses than people think.”
