Ballygawley Kitchen Firm Cooks Up Success

Ballygawley firm Greenhill Kitchens had double delight when  they won two prestigious awards at the Irish Kitchen Trade Awards last month.

At the awards ceremony held in the Titanic Centre, Belfast, the kitchen design and manufacturing firm picked up two outstanding IKT awards, for Irish kitchen showroom of the year and designer of the year for kitchens under £25,000.

These accolades were awarded by a panel of leading industry experts and put Greenhill in an elite class of kitchen design companies in Ireland.

Greenhill have been in business for over 30 years with the team headed by Peter Leonard, overseen by owner Frank McNelis.

Peter Leonard said, “We were delighted to have won the two awards. We were up against stiff competition and couldn’t believe it when we were shortlisted for the award.

“It was a big opportunity for us to showcase our work to the calibre of designers that were on the panel and it was just great to hear our name when the winners were announced.”

Although times have been tough with the economic downturn, Peter said that customers still expect quality when it comes to design.

“Our clients are delighted and it’s wonderful to have this recognition for the work we do.”

It is understood this is the first time a company have won both of these awards in the one year.

IKT Design Judge Des Ewing said of Greenhill’s award-winning entry in the Irish kitchen designer of the year for kitchen under £25,000, “This designer looked at the bigger picture and transformed the kitchen area with large windows to give great views from the hub of the house to the lake.

The kitchen which looks much more expensive than its modest budget and has been created through clever design.”

Judges also praised Greenhill for their “intuitive” and “relaxing” showroom.
