Innovation Awards 2015 Launched

The 2015 Irish Times InterTradeIreland Innovation Awards are now open for entries

The Awards launch took place in both Belfast and Dublin to start the island-wide search for the best innovations and innovative practices from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Awards categories

Applications are welcome from both public and private sectors across any one of the six categories:

  • agri-food (development, production, packaging or marketing of food)
  • bioscience (pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and nanotechnology)
  • energy and the environment (green technologies, utilities and transportation)
  • creative industries (advertising, animation, film, music, arts, fashion and architecture)
  • manufacturing (engineering design and the production of industrial products)
  • IT and telecommunications (hardware, software, security, telecom products and services)

Entries should be based on an operational, service or product innovation introduced into the target market in the period between 1 January 2013 and 1 December 2014.

The innovation may be business and/or customer and/or society focused, and its impact should be proven and measurable in qualitative and quantitative terms.

Register your interest

There is no fee to enter, but you will have to register your interest for the competition to make sure that you are eligible. Once you have registered, you will be able to download an application form and competition guidance notes.

Registration opened on Monday 8 September 2014 and will close on 17.00 on Monday 1 December 2014.

Awards are given to one winner from each category, each receiving a €10,000 communications package, an iPad, and a chance to compete for the overall, and over €150,000 worth, ‘Innovation of the Year’ title.
