Countdown On For Tyrone Jobs And Careers Fair

Tyrone’s biggest jobs fair is set to return offering job seekers a unique opportunity to approach some of the county’s largest employers directly.

The Tyrone Jobs and Careers Fair will take place at South West College’s Omagh campus on Friday September 19.

Between 12 noon and 3pm on the day, job seekers will be able to engage with employers directly about what work experience, training, apprenticeship and jobs are available locally.

This event is open to everyone and is for job seekers across all age groups including graduates; anyone wanting to return to work after a period of leave; anyone seeking a change of career; first time entrants to the job market; or anyone who has taken early retirement and wants to return to work.

ANSWER QUESTIONS

A number of key public and private employers and training organisations will be on hand to answer questions about current vacancies, future opportunities, skills and experience required to work within their business and will be on hand to answer questions about applying for and how to attain locally based employment.

This event for the local community has been backed by Enterprise Minister, Arlene Foster, who said, “By bringing job seekers face to face with potential employers and training organisations to discuss job vacancies, the Tyrone Jobs and Careers Fair gives local people the ideal opportunity to engage with the wide range of companies who will be seeking to recruit staff.”

The Minister said she encouraged anyone seeking to enhance their employability “to come along and see what the Tyrone Jobs and Careers Fair has to offer”.

OPPORTUNITIES

Employers represented at last year’s event included Terex, JMG Systems, Euro Auctions, PSNI, DEL, Grafton Recruitment
and South West College amongst many other private and public sector bodies.

It is anticipated that local employers, recruitment and training agencies and a range of local support services will attend again this year to promote their business and employment and training opportunities.

Local business leader and chair of Omagh Business Leadership Network, Seamus McCaffrey, commented, “Last year the event was very well attended and local businesses really got behind the jobs fair.

“We hope to replicate that success this year. Any business offering full time, part time, temporary work, apprentices or work placement will contribute positively to local employment in the county.

“We want to encourage businesses to attend to tell people about the quality jobs and career opportunities in our county, and we also want to encourage the local community to come along and find out about opportunities open to them.”

FREE

The event on September 19 2014 is free to attend and open to everyone seeking employment or employment related advice.

The Tyrone Jobs and Career event is supported by South West College, and the North-West News Group in partnership
