Farm Diversification Event

Find out more about generating new incomes at this Rural Enterprise event

Rural Enterprise is holding an awareness evening for those who are thinking of generating new incomes. It is estimated that at least 10% of local farm families are already reaping the benefits of secure income streams and a better life balance from their business diversification decisions.

There are many business areas farm families can explore to diversify their incomes, taking advantage of their skills and resources such as empty buildings. These include:

  • countryside tourism
  • alternative crops
  • rural services
  • recycling contracts
  • activity centres
  • rural office facilities
  • secure storage

The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) can offer invaluable business training and support packages to help with diversification. With a team of Rural Enterprise Advisers, CAFRE can also help emerging diversifiers to manage the transition from a traditional farm business to the final establishment of a sustainability-led rural business.

In the North West, CAFRE’s Rural Enterprise team in conjunction with the Rural Area Partnership in Derry (RAPID) has arranged a joint Diversification Awareness evening. At the event you will have the opportunity to meet the owners of two thriving Rural Businesses and share their business experience.

  • Location: RAPID Office Building, 2 Foreglen Road, Killaloo, BT47 3TP
  • Date: 6 August 2014
  • Time: 7.30pm

To book your place, please contact Caroline & Michelle at the RAPID office by calling 028 7133 7149.
