Omagh engineering company wins export order ‘down under’

An Omagh-based engineering company – which has been fostering global links with the exporting of their innovative products over the past 20 years – is celebrating further success ‘down under’.

The family-run business of Herbst Machinery Ltd, located a few miles outside Omagh, has seen its latest machine, the ‘Herbst Compac S52 Tracked Screener’, being exported to both Australia and New Zealand. The company has dealers set up in these markets for the distribution of its trailers, but it is the first recycling products of this type, the company has exported to these countries.

The company already has machines in Europe and has secured more orders worldwide. As demand increases, Herbst Machinery Ltd will be offering this product globally to all markets, and continue to seek new dealers to facilitate this objective.

Describing the product, Ashley Crawford, sales manager, said: “The Herbst Compac S52 Tracked Screener has been designed and manufactured with the export market in mind. The product is a robust and versatile screener designed for a wide range of materials and aggregates. With hydraulically folding conveyors and unique compact build, the screen can be folded up and tracked directly into a standard shipping container in the matter of minutes.

“The company have been manufacturing screeners since 2005, for the domestic and European markets. It is in recent years, due to demand, that the company has spent time in designing a product suitable for the global market. This unique product is designed for compact transportation in shipping containers to facilitate ease of logistics.”

The product was launched in June of this year at the International Quarrying and Recycling Show, Hillhead, England, where it impressed.
Said Mr Crawford: “The launch of this new product at Hillhead exceeded all expectations, with keen interests shown by numerous international visitors. The machine was on demonstration at the event, expressing its suitability for a variety of applications. The show was a great success for the launch of the product. A number of sales have been generated, and through continued negotiations, a number of dealers for the global market have been developed.

Herbst Machinery Ltd has built a reputation over the years, as a leading manufacturer of quality trailers for the agricultural and construction sector for transporting plant, machinery, equipment and aggregates.
