CONFERENCE SPEAKERS

KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Orla Corr OBE, Outstanding Business Woman of the Year WIBNI Award 2011
Business Development Director
McAvoy Group

Orla was formally recognised for services to the construction industry in Northern Ireland with her inclusion in the New Year Honours List 2011. She was awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) and also won the Outstanding Businesswoman of the Year 2011 at last year’s WIBNI Awards. Hear Orla’s story of how she grew the McAvoy group into one of Northern Ireland’s most successful companies, operating in international markets. She’ll guide us through that process of change and give her take on change management for firms trading in today’s global marketplace.

‘Asking for Business’
Nicola Byrne
CEO & Founder 11890

In today’s busy world we are all looking for ways to get things done. ‘Ask’ – three little letters is the answer which most of us dismiss because it’s such a little word but it defines the difference between success and failure. Nicola gives us her insight into business success, outlining her experiences in setting up 11890, the third operator in the highly competitive Irish telephone directories market. She believes we can all get more out of our business if we had the courage to ‘ask’. It’s a remarkable insight into how others can play a huge part in delivering us success.

‘Keeping it Real’
Jo Haigh
Partner, FDS Corporate Finance Services

An experienced dealmaker, Jo has bought and sold over 300 companies in the last 20 years specialising in owner managed companies. She tells her story based on the real deal, speaking the truth about Women in Business and how to be yourself (after all as Oscar Wilde said “everyone else has been taken”!) Having sold over 500,000 copies of her new book ‘Tales from the Glass Ceiling’ (a survival guide for women in business), Jo understand what makes business women tick.
