New health and safety pack and free information events for construction industry
Health and Safety Works NI (HSWNI) have launched a new resource pack to help construction employers manage their health and safety.
The publication gives guidance across a range of issues, from writing a health and safety policy, through carrying out risk assessments and method statements, to putting together a health and safety plan.
Worked examples and templates are provided throughout and a section has also been included for record-keeping.
The pack forms part of a package of assistance provided by HSWNI advisers during their visits with construction employers.

Free Employer Information Events
HSWNI in partnership with CITB-ConstructionSkillsNI, are holding a new series of ‘Employer Information Events’.
The events are designed to inform construction businesses of the products and services available to them from both organisations.
The HSWNI session at these events will outline:
- the key health and safety risks including working at height and with asbestos
- practical steps to improving health and safety management
- how HSWNI can help the smaller contractor
The events will be held on the following dates and locations:
- 9 February– The Fir Trees Hotel, Strabane
- 22 February– Armagh City Hotel, Armagh
- 28 February– Radisson Blu Roe Park Hotel, Limavady
- 7 March– Belfast Activity Centre, Belfast
- 21 March– Strangford Arms Hotel, Newtownards
- 27 March– Banbridge Enterprise Centre, Banbridge
- 24 April – Leighinmohr Hotel, Ballymena
