Future of Tourism event to help local businesses grow by examining online marketing, social media, cost control & future trends

Northern Ireland’s Hotel Federation hosts the two-day Hospitality Exchange – the Future of Tourism event. The event will be packed with insights, workshops and a trade exhibition.

Seminars

Seminars at the event include:

  • Social Media goes Mobile– a look at the potential impact of mobile communications and smartphones on your business, including advice on how to build an online community, spreading your message and engaging with customers.
  • Online Marketing– Frank Reeves from Avvio will give an insight into how the hotel industry and online marketing look today and what forces will shape its’ future.
  • Cost Control– leading tourism consultant, Michael Williamson from ASM, will look at how information can be employed to save costs across your business.
  • Future of Tourism seminar – a look at how Northern Ireland can attract more visitors and increase tourism spend. Consumer analyst, Paul Flatters will look at future trends, adapting to changing consumer needs and what is happening on the global tourism front. Ufi Abrahim, head of the British Hospitality Association, will look at the tourism economy and the challenges the industry is facing. Kathryn Thomson, NI Tourist Board (NITB) Chief Operating Officer will speak from this region’s perspective and put the trends into a local context, outlining the specific actions NITB is taking to support the industry.

Event details

The Hospitality Exchange – the Future of Tourism event takes place over two days on 18 and 19 October 2011. The event takes place at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Belfast. There is a cost to attend some of the seminars.
