30 September deadline for landlords allowance

Rate bills on rental property or properties must be paid by 30 September in order to receive landlords allowance

If you are responsible for rates on a rental property or properties and pay your bill in full before 30 September 2011, you will receive your allowance.

What happens if you pay after 30 September?

If your rate account is not credited with the full amount you owe by 30 September 2011 you will not receive your allowance of 7.5 per cent or 15 per cent, depending on the type of account you have.

You should always allow five working days for your payment to be processed, so if you make a payment on or after 25 September 2011 you risk the payment not being processed on time, and therefore will not receive your allowance. Please note that if you pay at a Post Office, you should allow ten working days for the payment to be credited to your rate account.
