Community organisations, social enterprises and voluntary groups in Omagh and across the wider Tyrone area may be eligible for support through a new funding approach launched by the International Fund for Ireland.
The International Fund for Ireland has introduced Crossing the Threshold, a new strategy designed to support innovative, needs-based projects that respond directly to the changing needs of communities.
Rather than working through traditional fixed programmes, the new approach offers a more flexible and responsive funding model. This is intended to help communities develop projects that address division, support community development and contribute to wider social and economic progress.
Supporting Communities Most in Need
The revised funding model aims to direct support towards areas where there is greatest need, as well as emerging opportunities for positive community change.
Funding will focus on projects that help address division and the ongoing impact of conflict, particularly in communities affected by disadvantage.
The strategy also seeks to tackle barriers that continue to sustain division, including physical, psychological and structural challenges within communities.
For Omagh-based groups, this may create opportunities to develop projects that build stronger relationships, support regeneration, encourage shared spaces and help communities move forward together.
