John McNamara:
Yes. Sendmode is an online mobile marketing business with a global reach.

And why did you set up the business?
John McNamara:
We were really interested in mobile tech and wanted to bring it to businesses around the world.
Nick O’Shiel:
What’s been the best thing about running your own business?
John McNamara:
Watching the business grow, hearing positive feedback from customers, and expanding our team.
Nick O’Shiel:
And the main challenges?
John McNamara:
Coming from a tech background, learning the business side was tough. Managing growth and entering new markets was also a big challenge.
Nick O’Shiel:
What markets are you in?
John McNamara:
UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand—and we’ve just had our first sales in Asia.
Nick O’Shiel:
What advice would you give to someone starting a business?
John McNamara:
Believe in yourself. It’s hard work, but don’t let anyone stop you.
