Nick O’Shiel:
Hello and welcome to the 60 Second Challenge with Omagh Enterprise Company. I’m Nick O’Shiel, and today I’m with Dr Gabriela Mercik of the HEBE Clinic, who has agreed to take the challenge. Gabriela, you’re very welcome.

Gabriela Mercik:
Thank you very much. I know you’re busy, so I appreciate your time.

Nick O’Shiel:
As you know, the challenge is to answer six questions about your business in 60 seconds. Shall we start?

Gabriela Mercik:
Yes, go ahead.

Nick O’Shiel:
Can you describe your business?

Gabriela Mercik:
My business is to make people happy—happy and beautiful. I opened an aesthetic medicine clinic in Belfast three years ago, called HEBE Clinic, named after the Greek goddess of youth. It was so successful that I opened a second clinic in Omagh.

Nick O’Shiel:
Why did you start your business?

Gabriela Mercik:
I’ve always been in business, even back in Poland. I was torn between art and medicine, and when I came to Northern Ireland five years ago, I found aesthetic medicine—it’s the perfect combination of both.

Nick O’Shiel:
What are some of the best things about running your own business?

Gabriela Mercik:
Making people happy. When people feel good about themselves, they’re more confident and can live better lives. I love seeing people leave my clinic smiling or even in tears because they look 10 years younger.

Nick O’Shiel:
And what are the challenges?

Gabriela Mercik:
To stay the best. To stay ahead of trends, find new techniques. For example, I saw a programme from LA about needle-free fillers—I’ve been doing that in Belfast for three years!

Nick O’Shiel:
What advice would you give someone starting a business?

Gabriela Mercik:
Have a dream and go after it. Work hard. And have a good accountant—that’s very important!

Nick O’Shiel:
Finally, in three words or less, describe your experience.

Gabriela Mercik:
Emotionally rewarding, professionally respected—doctors in England call me to learn techniques—and financially successful. Because we’re the best.

Nick O’Shiel:
That’s wonderful. Just over four minutes—congratulations, and well done!
