Nick O’Shiel:
Hello and welcome to the 60 Second Challenge with Omagh Enterprise Company. I’m Nick O’Shiel, and I’m here with Cliodhna Fullen of Irish TV.

Cliodhna, you’re very welcome.

Cliodhna Fullen:
Thank you!

Nick O’Shiel:
It’s not often we get a TV presenter here, so we’re delighted to have you. I think you know the challenge — six questions about your work in 60 seconds?

Cliodhna Fullen:
Yes!

Nick O’Shiel:
Alright, let’s get started. First question — can you describe your business?

Cliodhna Fullen:
At the moment, I work for Irish TV on a programme called Tyrone Country Matters. I’m both the presenter and researcher.

Nick O’Shiel:
Why did you get into this field?

Cliodhna Fullen:
I studied performing arts and theatre in Belfast for six years and worked in drama and dance for 10 years, running an academy around Northern Ireland. After falling ill last year, I had to pause that work — but I was offered this presenting role and it’s been an amazing new start.

Nick O’Shiel:
What are some of the best things about the job?

Cliodhna Fullen:
Meeting new people and learning something new every day. It’s taken me out of my bubble and into different communities. It’s exciting and inspiring.

Nick O’Shiel:
And the challenges?

Cliodhna Fullen:
Making the programme stand out — keeping it vibrant and appealing to all age groups. Our current show focuses on country music, but we’re working to broaden our appeal.

Nick O’Shiel:
What advice would you give someone wanting to start a career in TV?

Cliodhna Fullen:
Keep going. It took me ten years. Do voluntary work, make connections, believe in yourself — and ignore those who say “get a real job.” This was always my dream, and I’m finally living it.

Nick O’Shiel:
In three words or less, describe your experience?

Cliodhna Fullen:
It’s amazing.

Nick O’Shiel:
Well done! Two minutes thirty-seven — you’ve met the challenge. Congratulations.

Cliodhna Fullen:
Thank you!
