Northern Ireland Screen opens latest Games Development Call with funding of up to £15,000 available
Game developers, creative entrepreneurs and digital businesses in Omagh have an opportunity to access funding through the latest Games Development Call from Northern Ireland Screen.
The programme, delivered through the Screen Fund, offers grants of up to £15,000 to support the development of narrative-led games intended for commercial release. Applications are welcome from businesses working on original intellectual property as well as service-based projects.

The funding presents an opportunity for local developers, digital creatives and technology-focused businesses to turn innovative ideas into commercial products while contributing to the continued growth of Northern Ireland’s creative industries.
For Omagh and the wider West Tyrone area, initiatives such as this can help nurture high-value digital jobs, encourage entrepreneurship and showcase local talent on a national and international stage.
Narrative games focus on storytelling, allowing players to engage with characters, worlds and experiences through a structured storyline. The fund aims to support projects that demonstrate creativity, commercial potential and strong development planning.
Eligibility Criteria
Applications must be submitted for a single project and successful applicants will be expected to complete development within three months.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be based in Northern Ireland
- Have a minimum total project budget of £20,000
- Contribute at least £2,500 in cash and £2,500 in-kind
- Provide evidence of match funding as part of the application
Applicants should also ensure that Northern Ireland expenditure matches or exceeds the amount awarded, unless there is a clear justification for an alternative approach.
