Artists, musicians and creative practitioners across Omagh and the wider Fermanagh and Omagh district are being encouraged to explore a new travel funding opportunity from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
Applications are now open for Travel Awards through the National Lottery Support for Individual Artists Programme, helping artists from Northern Ireland travel internationally to develop new creative skills, knowledge and professional experience.
The funding is available to individual artists and established music groups of up to two members and can support travel opportunities that help strengthen artistic practice, collaboration and career development.
The programme operates on a rolling basis throughout the 2026/27 period, meaning there are no fixed application deadlines. However, applicants must:
- Apply at least four weeks before travelling
- Apply no more than six months before departure
- Complete travel within 12 months of submitting an application
Applicants must also provide evidence of an invitation from a host organisation in the country they plan to visit.
The opportunity is open to artists working across all disciplines and creative practices, offering valuable support for local creatives looking to expand their networks, gain international experience and bring new ideas back to the local arts and cultural sector in Omagh and beyond.
The programme closes at midday on Wednesday 31 March 2027.
