Great news for rural businesses in Omagh and across the district – DAERA Minister Andrew Muir MLA has announced that the Rural Business Development Grant Scheme (RBDGS) will open for applications on Thursday 25 September 2025.

This scheme, funded through DAERA’s Tackling Rural Poverty and Social Isolation (TRPSI) Programme and delivered in partnership with local Councils, offers 50% capital grants up to £7,500.

Eligible rural micro businesses can apply for support to purchase capital equipment that helps:

  • Boost sustainability and business growth

  • Modernise operations and improve efficiency

  • Create local employment opportunities and strengthen the rural economy

Minister Muir highlighted the positive impact of previous funding rounds, saying that the scheme helps rural businesses “invest in new equipment, ensure sustainability, enable growth, and create valuable employment opportunities.”

Applicants must provide at least 50% match funding, and the deadline for applications is 12:00 noon on Thursday 30 October 2025.

📌 Local businesses in Omagh and surrounding areas are encouraged to contact Fermanagh & Omagh District Council for guidance and support in making an application.
