Are you a craft maker in Omagh working with materials like clay, glass, textiles, metal, wood or paper? The Arts Council of Northern Ireland is now accepting applications for the 2025 Rosy James Memorial Trust Award — a fantastic opportunity to support and develop your creative practice.

This award is designed to help makers who are deeply committed to working with materials, either alone or in combination. Eligible materials include:

  • Fired clay or glass

  • Fine or base metals

  • Textiles

  • Wood

  • Plastics

  • Paper

  • Or other creative craft materials

The Rosy James Memorial Trust Award was created in 2014 thanks to the generosity of Rosy James, a passionate arts supporter from Belfast. Rosy left over £500,000 in her will to help craft makers across Northern Ireland advance their careers.

Past recipients include glass artist Alison Lowry, ceramicist Eleanor Wheeler, sculptor John Rainey, furniture designer Brian McKee, and many more.

How to Apply

Craft makers interested in applying must complete the official application form and email it to rstephenson@artscouncil-ni.org no later than midday on Friday 11 July 2025.

For guidance or to discuss your application idea, you can contact the Arts Council’s Visual Arts team. Email Suzanne Lyle at slyle@artscouncil-ni.org.

This is a brilliant opportunity for Omagh-based craft makers to gain recognition, funding, and momentum in their professional journey.
