A new initiative aimed at enhancing workplace inclusion for individuals with disabilities and long-term health conditions has been launched by the Fermanagh and Omagh Labour Market Partnership.
Funded by the Department for Communities, the Employer-led Disability Inclusion Programme is designed to support local businesses in building inclusive and accessible work environments. Delivered in partnership with the NOW Group, the programme will equip employers with practical tools and resources to implement inclusive hiring practices, workplace accommodations, and disability awareness training for staff.
By focusing on employer-led strategies, the programme seeks to create workplaces where all employees can contribute and thrive, regardless of their abilities or health status.
In addition to supporting businesses, the programme offers opportunities for local residents aged 16 to 64 with a registered disability or health condition who are not currently in employment. Participants can work towards a qualification in customer service, hospitality, or catering and gain hands-on experience through placements with local employers.
