Treat for Women in Business finalists

Judges meet this Friday to mull over the entries for this year’s Women in Business NI Awards.

For the first time there will be a special treat awaiting all who make the short list for the awards, which take place on November 22.

As well as being shortlisted for achieving excellence in their field they will also qualify to ‘get away from it all’ on Wednesday October 24.

That is when 30 women will descend on Galgorm Resort and Spa in Ballymena for an exclusive day of learning, networking and of course relaxation.

The Retreat will be attended by the ‘Women in Business NI Awards Alumnae’, winners from the 2011 inaugural awards ceremony, and is the brainchild of the organisation’s chief executive Roseann Kelly.

“We had great feedback from those who attended our inaugural awards ceremony last year,” she said.

“The event itself provided a great networking opportunity but this year we wanted to create an additional benefit for the shortlisted entrants who are excelling in business.

“The first-ever Women in Business NI Retreat will bring together our newly formed awards alumnae, which represents a cross-section of Northern Ireland’s economic frame- work, including female business leaders from across the manufacturing, environmental, retail, digital, professional services and hospitality industries.

“Aimed at stimulating quality networking that builds sustainable business connections and personal development, the 30 women who secure a place at the retreat will hear from some of Northern Ireland’s leading industry experts.

“These inspirational speakers will be on hand to impart knowledge at bespoke masterclasses and workshops which will be tailored to address business development, im provement and growth. There will also be an opportunity for some relaxation at the end of this exclusive day.”

The retreat is being sponsored by Galgorm Resort and Spa, whose general manager Yvonne Smyth said: “We’re delighted to be hosting the first ever Women in Business NI Retreat and look forward to welcoming some of the most influential businesswomen in Northern Ireland to our award-winning resort.”
