Company’s Expansion to Deliver 20 New Jobs for Omagh

A courier company which has just opened a new depot in Omagh will create 20 new jobs as part of a nationwide expansion plan.

The jobs at Nightline will include positions such as new delivery drivers, depot support staff and sorting shift staff and will be introduced with immediate effect.

The company has been operating locally for several years and its founder and chief executive John Touhy, has attributed the growth to more e-commerce and the introduction of the Eirecode postcode system in the Republic.

“As we near a quarter of a century in business, we continue to enjoy consistent and sustained growth,” Mr Touhy said.

“With the heavy demand for online shopping, we are seeing a strong and steady need for parcel and delivery services and this expansion is in line with the desire to continually give our growing customer base a first-class service.”

The company is expanding to cater for the launch of new premium services for its customers, including same day, evening and weekend deliveries. The announcement was made by the Republic’s Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mary Mitchell O’Connor TD and is part of a three million euro overall investment.
